Hey guys, i'd like to commend the creators of Bino and Fino and Mark of Uru for their great work. They are definitely taking African animation to the next level. Please add other inspiring African animators who you feel should be given a pat on the back.
BINO AND FINO: Is a Nigerian childrens cartoon that aims at enabling young African children to grow up with a feeling of patriotism towards Africa. It features a young boy, Bino, and his sister,Fino, who lives with their parents. It is very educational, something we as Africans should have grown on.
MARK OF URU: Is also Nigerian. It is about a young girl,Azuka, who is born with the mark of an evil sorceress and as such the villagers lead a manhunt that aims at murdering the innocent girl. The girl is,however, saved and decides to undertake a journey in order to find what the mark means.
Some constructive criticism though,i think the story suffers a great deal. First because the writer takes too long to introduce characters who are supposed to be major characters.Second because Azuka (the main character) is always getting knocked out. How are we supposed to identify with her as a main character...why should we care if she, perhaps, gets killed.Third, the evil spirits or whatever that at one time tried to pursue Azuka were killed off too easily and the worst thing, it's not even Azuka who defeated it.
Well, enough with my constructive criticism.Let's share our oppinions.
